Leaving a Lasting Legacy

Pathways for Discipleship Grants

The Kansas Area United Methodist Foundation is honored to support Kansas churches and organizations through the Pathways for Discipleship Grants. Matching grants are awarded to churches and organizations to advance ministries across our state, especially in ways that are creative, innovative, and new.

Through these Pathways for Discipleship Grants, the Foundation is able to support programs and ministries all across Kansas and be adaptable with new possibilities. Many churches or organizations have new ideas that, if they were supported with additional funding, could make an impact. These grants come alongside local support for helping make disciples of Jesus Christ, change lives, and transform communities.

These grants would not be possible without the generosity of faithful donors who support the grant ministry through cash and estate gifts. If you would like to make a difference within one of these Pathways for Discipleship Funds, click "give" for an online donation, send a check to the Foundation Office, or contact the Kansas Area United Methodist Foundation about other ways to give.

Matching grants are awarded in three keys areas of ministry. The key areas are:

Children and Youth Program Fund:

This pathway fund provides support for all aspects of programming for children, youth and young adult ministries. The endowment fund assists with the developing of new, unique programs to attract children, youth  and young adults to the church through local church, district, campus ministry or conference experiences. This fund may assist camping and campus ministry leadership development or training.

Ministry and Outreach Fund:

This pathway fund provides ministry grants for local churches that will expand the missional outreach of the United Methodist Church. These grants will be for programing, outreach ministry requests, mission trips. Not for brick and mortar requests. Ministry grants help make disciples of Jesus Christ, for the transformation of the world.

Leadership Education Fund:

This pathway fund provides support for education and leadership development of clergy and lay leaders. This fund may also assist in providing trainings for a church, network, or regional gathering.
